In this easy rice recipe, we will first make the rice in its most simple form, and then, while the rice is still hot, we’ll add the chopped dill and olive oil.

As you will notice, I did not wash or soak the rice first.
I’ve learned that it doesn’t change much if the rice is good.

Steps

1
Done

Prepare the Rice

Heat a medium saucepan. When hot, add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.

Add the rice and a flat teaspoon of salt, fry for 3-4 minutes.

Add the water, stir lightly (once), and cover.

When boiling (after about 5 minutes), lower the flame and wait for 10-13 minutes.
Turn off the flame. The rice should be done. While you let the rice sit for 5 minutes, move on to the next step.

Deal With the Dill

Wash the dill and chop off the thicker part of the stems and discard (Omry’s tip: you can freeze the stems for future use in your homemade stock).
Mince the dill.

Combine

Once the rice has set (it should still be very hot), place the chopped dill on top of the rice, add about 4 tablespoons of olive oil, and mix.
Done. Enjoy!
